Okay, that is a pretty sophomoric statement. What the heck does “value them while they are there” mean? There are so many ways that we’ve seen employers value their employees, some of which include:
• Cash (i.e envelope with X amount of money)
• Tickets to the big event
• Extra days off
• Not waiting 1-year for a review
• Giving more autonomy / work from home days
• Just saying great job
• Have to make their salary right (even if it’s a raise every 6-months)
Some of these are simple strokes, others take effort and/or money. What we’ve found that happily employed prospects are a much tougher nut to crack whereas those that aren’t treated as a valuable part of the organization are usually all ears.
